Ponichala is a coming-of-age film about identity. The protagonist, a 16-year-old, visually impaired girl, explores her way to her true self and what she wants in life. She lives in Ponichala, a small district in Tbilisi, Georgia. It used to be a soviet safe haven for blind people. Nowadays poverty, crime and isolation reign supreme.

Social Media, especially TikTok, creates a new perspective, giving a glimpse into a new global reality. Promises of a progressive world clash with the traditions of the past. We will observe our protagonist in her final year of school - an important phase which will be detrimental for her future.
